[art] Kumi Yamashita

Post by LadyCelestine » July 2nd, 2012, 10:12 pm

I don't like art. I don't appreciate it, mostly because a lot of it is over my head. As Lokke will tell you, I fall into the 'oh that's pretty' category of art admirers. Subtlety and subtext are NOT my strong point. :)

However, I stumbled across this artist and wanted to share. Not necesarily because I found her work particularly pretty, but because I was filled with awe and admiration of the time, effort, attention to detail and sheer artistry she brought to the mundane. I was just as amazed by the artists who used the pointillism technique in their paintings, which I guess this is really just a continuation of that form.

I'm in the same group when it comes to art. I guess I just have the math gene a little too strongly.

From what I could see it did look like the artist put in a lot of effort and I thought some of the light and shadow stuff looked neat.

But no mobile website makes my phone browser a sad panda.
